The Kitchen Window

One of the assignments in my art class was to draw the view out a window in our house along with anything in our imagination at the time. As you can see, I had a lot of fun with this. I am standing in front of the kitchen sink, looking out the window. My mom has a couple sun catchers hanging on it in the lower pane. Just outside is the back deck (the railings are down because we are re-doing them). Beyond is the woods. Lower in the tree is my actual treehouse I built when I was a kid. About 50 feet up, the tree splits off into several enormous branches. I have always imagined what it would be like to design and build an elaborate treehouse up there. Unfortunately, we live in the city, and I would never get a permit or have enough money or time for that. The cat in the center is my sister's kitten. She was not actually out there, she was sitting on the counter beside me at the time. The cats have smoke coming off of them because they are supposed to be ghost cats. Sometimes I hallucinate cats (even without drugs). I drew the dancing foxes on the window sill just because I love anthro and frequently fantasize about the anthro world. They also represent the way my mind feels after smoking cannabis, and so I drew cannabis leaves behind them.
